Preparing for a planned medical trip

Have the appointment location, requested arrival time, pickup setting and a callback number ready. Ask the care team what form of transportation is appropriate for the patient.

An outbound trip does not automatically arrange the return. Ask how the return pickup will be coordinated and who should call if the appointment runs differently than expected.

Confirm the transportation before relying on it. Save the appropriate contact for cancellations or schedule changes. Use general email only for non-sensitive questions; discuss medical information through the appropriate care-team channel.
