Use MEDICS as a direct point of contact when your team needs to discuss a transportation request. The process is designed to keep the operational details clear for the sending team, patient or family, and receiving setting.
- Hospital discharge planners and case managers
- Skilled nursing facility (SNF) teams
- Rehabilitation facility teams
- Dialysis center coordinators
- Surgery center coordinators
- Social workers and other care coordinators
For a facility referral or an introductory conversation about future transportation needs, start with your coordinating role, general pickup area and destination, and the type of request your team wants to discuss. Ask which requests MEDICS can consider and what next steps would be needed before any service arrangement.
MEDICS does not currently pick patients up inside the City of Houston. Drop-offs in Houston may be discussed; each request remains subject to availability and applicable requirements. Review the service-area overview before discussing a route.
A facility conversation does not establish a service agreement, reserved capacity, or payer coverage. Confirm any proposed terms separately before relying on them.
For a life-threatening emergency, call 911. MEDICS is not a replacement for emergency response.
