Medical transportation is a broad description of travel connected with care. Ambulance transportation is one form of that travel. An appointment or a medical destination does not, by itself, tell you which transport is appropriate.

Ambulance and medical transportation
Understand the words before discussing the journey.
All resources01 / Understand
A broad term and a specific setting
02 / Prepare
Ask about the patient’s needs
The treating team can explain the support needed during travel. Families should not have to select a clinical level based on a website description or price alone.
03 / Plan
Ask about the arrangement
Discuss the pickup location, destination, requested timing and return journey separately from the clinical recommendation. Confirm the actual transportation before treating the trip as booked.
The next step
A question about the next trip?
